This web site started out as a cook book for Mama’s sons when they were getting ready to go off to college. They go to school in different time zones so it’s not always convenient for them to call home with questions. The cook book wasn’t ready when son number one went off to school because Mama's former job as a journalist kept her away from home a lot. Instead she purchased a couple cookbooks by authors she admired and gave them to her son for Christmas. But the minute he got back to school and went to the grocery store he called for a list of ingredients for something he wanted to make. Hmmn.......what's wrong with this picture?

One day while writing the book, Mama got frustrated looking for a recipe and went to the web to search for it. That was the "aha" moment when a light bulb went on in her head. Kids won’t use a cook book. Why not put all her motherly advice (and links to the advice of others) on a web site where they would have access to it 24/7? So after consulting her sons, godsons, nieces, nephews, former interns and lots of other college kids about what they needed to know, Mama began her journey as a web creator.

During this time she has learned so much and hopes that some of this will be helpful to all of you. It's been a total labor of love and completely gratifying. Mama’s sons say they still want the family recipes but they’ll have to come home and cook in her kitchen to learn them because she is too busy now to write them all down.
